Recruitment fee split calculator
Work out each agency’s share before you agree the placement terms. Start with a salary percentage or a fixed fee, then enter the split you have agreed.
Calculate your agency split
The starting figures are an example, not a recommended fee or split.
Your fee split
- Total placement fee
- Agreed deductions
- Amount available to split
Client agency
Candidate agency
Rounded to two decimal places. Any rounding remainder is allocated to the candidate agency so both shares add up exactly.
Calculated in your browser. Figures are not sent to TAP. Taxes are not calculated. TAP takes no placement commission; any subscription is separate.
How to calculate a recruitment fee split
For a percentage fee, multiply the agreed salary basis by the placement fee percentage. Subtract any deductions both agencies have accepted. Multiply the remaining amount by the client agency’s split percentage; the candidate agency receives the balance.
Example: A salary of 100,000 at a 20% fee gives a placement fee of 20,000. With no deductions and a 50/50 split, each agency receives 10,000 in the agreed currency.
Agree more than the percentage
Record who invoices whom, when payment becomes due, and what happens if the client pays late or requests a refund or replacement. For overseas partners, agree the currency and transfer costs before the introduction.
Use our agency partnership checklist to work through these details together.
