Add to TAP
Privacy and help for the desktop browser extension · 25 October 2026
What it does
Capture one visible candidate profile, review the details in TAP, check your agency’s existing candidates, then confirm a private save. Agency Growth and permission to import candidates are required. The extension does not upgrade your plan.
What it reads
Only after you click Capture, the extension reads the current webpage’s visible candidate name, headline, location, employment, education, skills, displayed contact details, page title, profile URL and any text you selected. Available fields depend on the page. It does not fetch hidden contact details, visit more profiles, scroll pages, read passwords or cookies, or monitor your browsing history.
When information goes to TAP
The initial preview stays in your browser. Clicking Review in TAP passes the draft to the review page at taprecruiter.com. Checking duplicates sends the reviewed candidate fields to TAP’s servers for validation. Confirming the save adds or updates the private candidate record in the agency shown on the page. No candidate invitation is sent and nothing is publicly listed or shared with other agencies by this capture flow.
Temporary drafts and saved records
The extension uses browser session storage, not synchronised or permanent extension storage. Draft access expires after 30 minutes. Drafts are removed when the review tab closes, when you discard or complete the capture, or when the browser session ends. Expired drafts are also cleared on the next extension request. Information already displayed in an open review page remains there until it is closed or discarded.
After you confirm a save, the record belongs to your agency’s TAP workspace and is retained there until managed through TAP. Uninstalling the extension does not delete saved TAP records. The review page may keep a temporary, non-candidate-data marker in tab session storage if a save response is uncertain, to prevent accidental repeat submissions.
Processing and service providers
TAP is operated by TalentChoice Group Pty Ltd, trading as TalentChoice. The capture page uses TAP’s existing account authentication and hosting services. Cloudflare provides hosting and data services, and Supabase supports account authentication. Authorised TAP support access is controlled and audited as described in TAP’s website privacy notice. Capture data is used to provide the requested recruitment workflow, not for advertising, data brokerage, or sale.
The optional CV-upload link opens a separate TAP website workflow. A CV is processed by Cloudflare AI only after you choose a file and confirm processing permission on that page. The browser extension itself does not upload CV files or perform AI analysis. The TAP CV page accepts text-based PDF, DOCX, TXT (including Unicode text), RTF and ODT files up to 2 MB. Scanned PDFs, images and older DOC files need a text-based copy. You review the extracted fields and choose what to save; the original file is attached to the private candidate record.
Your choices
Check the source website’s terms and your authority to process the person’s information. Review and correct captured fields before saving. Review the Skills field too: saved skills are searchable in your agency’s candidate pool, alongside work history and qualifications. Use Discard to abandon a draft. Default duplicate handling keeps an existing record unchanged; you can explicitly choose to fill blanks or replace reviewed non-empty fields. Duplicates are checked within your agency using email, phone and LinkedIn profile URL, with name-only matches requiring review.
Supported pages
Desktop Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The beta supports standard LinkedIn /in/ profile layouts and ordinary CV or candidate webpages with clearly labelled details. It can suggest visible skills, employment history and education; the fields depend on the page. Selected text can help isolate one candidate. Multi-person lists need a single candidate selection. LinkedIn search, feed, company, Recruiter and Sales Navigator pages are not supported. Some websites restrict extensions or change their layouts. Missing information stays blank. This extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn.
If something goes wrong
- Use the same browser for the source profile and TAP.
- Open one profile normally and expand the sections you need.
- Capture, then choose Review in TAP.
- If asked to sign in, use the new sign-in tab and return to the review tab.
- Check the agency name, candidate details and duplicate result, then confirm the save.
If a save cannot be confirmed, check your candidate pool before trying again. Do not repeat an uncertain save.
